Class Attire

  • Outfit for girls: Black Leotard, full-footed pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Please contact School Registrar Nancy Hebson for information regarding permitted, safe ballet shoes.  Hair should be in a bun with a hairnet or bun cover and no bangs.  No skirts or legwarmers permitted in class.

  • Outfit for boys: White T-shirt, black tights, black ballet shoes.

Levels

  • Upon enrollment, students are placed into an approved level.

  • Students may be evaluated for possible promotion to Ballet Level II at 8 years.  However, students are promoted ONLY when body strength has matured.  Students generally remain in a particular level for 2-3 years.

  • Levels are mixed.  Higher levels take lower levels to maintain proper technique and muscle memory.

Lauridsen Ballet Centre does everything possible to prevent injuries.  However, ballet is an athletic activity and injuries can occur.

Students are encouraged to conference each year with the Artistic Director to discuss progress.  We are happy to schedule an appointment.
